Soft spot gone?

Our 12 month old DD has a hump on top of her head near where the soft spot was. My mom took DD to the dr a couple weeks ago because she was sick and I was having surgery. Mom ask the dr about it and she seemed concerned her soft spot was gone but said she would recheck at 12 mn checkup. That's two weeks away and I'm unable to move it up. Does anyone have experience with this. DD wakes several times a night with blood curdling screams. I'm starting to wonder if she's having pain while laying down due to the inter-cranial pressure.

Re: Soft spot gone?

  • If you feel like you should see a pediatrician ASAP, I recommend seeing if they can work you in. My ped has the option of bringing in a sick LO to see an on duty dr in the office.

  • Soft spots can close that early with no issues.  This is also the age that nightmares starts. If you are concerned, take her in, if only for your own peace of mind.  Call and take her in as a sick appt.
